Collins McNicholas: Student of the Year (BA in Human Resource Management, GMIT)
Joey Hallinan has a primary degree in Hotel & Catering mgmt and worked in the hotel industry for some years with a strong focus on recruitment and training. He then spent 10 years in the manufacturing industry with Boston Scientific before joining Medtronic here in Galway where he hopes his CIPD accreditation will open up more opportunities in his career. Joey consistently proved himself to be the best student for the full three years of the BA in Human Resource Management.
He is currently completing the BBS Honors degree in GMIT and is hoping to continue on to a Masters Degree in 2016.
ARAMARK: Student of the Year (MSc Strategy, Innovation & People Management, NUIG)
Colette Mannion graduated in 2011 with a first-class Honors BA degree in Business Management from the Galway Business School, awarded by the University of Wales. Colette works currently with EssentialSkillz in Galway.
Colette is the winner of the ARAMARK Award because she obtained the highest average of all students completing the MSc in Strategy, Innovation and People Management in 2014/15. The topic of Colette’s dissertation was, “How subsidiary leadership changes the dynamics for gaining headquarters’ attention”.
Colette graduated with a first-class honours degree on Wednesday last.
Medtronic: Student of the Year (MSc Human Resources Management, NUIG)
‘This prize will be awarded annually on the recommendation of the Professor of Management, to the student achieving first place in the M.Sc(Human Resource Management) programme provided an overall result of Second Class Honors Grade 1 has been achieved.’
The award winner is Siobhan Healy-Cullen who was awarded a First Class Honours Degree
The title of her dissertation is: 'Is Workplace Bullying in the Eye of the Beholder'
